Sr. Project Manager

Job Summary

As a member of our project management team, you will oversee all aspects of assigned projects from commencement to completion. Senior Project Manager will have the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and clients while successfully directing the superintendent, and other project related personnel in planning, coordinating and safety executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget in a manner that exceeds our clients’ expectations. The Senior Project Manager will also ensure that our work adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. This position reports to the CFO/COO.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be our primary contact with the client, building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Be on-site as required for successful management of the project.
  • Understand, document, review, and communicate project scope, constraints, scope gaps, work-to-go and deadlines to all parties to the project to ensure successful completion.
  • Establish a cadence of regular meetings and team communications.
  • Manage all financial aspects of projects through ongoing job forecasting.
  • Technical coordination of the I&C components and design into 3D model.
  • Develop and implement submittals. Procurement and tracking of all instrumentation related devices and equipment.
  • Develop and manage project schedule and overall budget/forecast.
  • Assist estimator in preparation of project budget.
  • Prepare all project change orders utilizing Accubid software.
  • Ensure Blueprints are being constructed properly with all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the development of schedules; expedite and coordination of subcontractors.
  • Set clear goals and expectations to superintendent(s).
  • Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with client as well as effectively lead the trades.
  • Ensure completion of and track all independent testing and inspection as required.
  • Monitor site safety, ensuring OSHA requirements are enforced.
  • Maintain control and enforce good electrical and quality control.
  • Inform the Client of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained with the Client’s design drawings.
  • Control and monitor labor, material and equipment expenses.
  • Manage all jobs closeout procedures and ensure the timely turnover to the client.
  • Manage delivery of weekly safety meetings and daily tool box talks.
  • Conduct post project reviews to determine areas for future improvement.
  • Provide coaching/counseling to superintendent.
  • Develop/maintain network of professional relationships within our industry.
  • Work closely with VP, Operations and Accounting, internal and external stakeholders to maximize team efficiency and organization throughout all project phases.
  • Work closely with VP, Field Strategy and EHS to ensure proper staffing and deployment of field and safety personnel.
  • Manage and mentor project team members.

Key Performance Criteria

  • 7 years successful electrical PM experience (large job experience and OSHA 30 a plus) on $15M to $30M jobs.
  • 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Prior experience in electrical estimating.
  • Experience with AccuBid, Bluebeam, and ViewPoint.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellence in communications; both written and oral.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing Capital projects.
  • Proven relationship building and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to assist with decision making.
  • Track record of successfully managing and motivating teams.
